Camping in Hawaii!!

I think this is the first time since becoming an adult that I have actually gone camping.  The last time would probably be when I was in elementary school.  (Now that would be a long time ago!)
Roasting marshmallows was always the highlight of any camp.  This time we did not make a campfire but the charcoal hibachi provided enough heat to roast the marshmallows without burning them and we all had a great time!

I don't think it was the marshmallows that kept me up that night.  Could it have been all of the excitement of being in nature and sleeping in a tent?  This is the tent that my wife and I slept in that night.  

I am sure that we got some rest but our plans to get up early to see the sunrise came all too quickly.  Everyone around us was still asleep but we both decided to take a walk along the beach as it got a little lighter outside.

By the time we got back, others in our group started to wake up.  To our surprise, we were told that coffee would be available and this is a picture of the device that made coffee for all of us that morning.

Breakfast was served right after having our coffee and then it was time to play with the kids.

We set up badminton and a horseshoe game but the best part was swimming and body boarding in the surf.  The shore breaks made the waves seem bigger and easier to catch while body boarding.  There were other people body surfing which looked like a lot of fun but I think I will stick with riding a board of some sort for now.

It did not occur to me until the morning, after seeing the large number of tents, that there was a great deal of people who enjoy camping.  I definitely need to do this once again and soon.  Hopefully next time I can get a good rest?

Sounds like you had fun! Next time maybe we can join you, too!
But I would need a nice bed and a hot shower? to go with my two-bedroom
tent: )

Well, two-bedroom tent maybe possible but hot shower? You can stay out in the sun and get HOT and then take a refreshing shower. How's that? Oh, and there are air mattresses available so it can be very comfortable.

Yes, I would love to have you guys join us. Hopefully it will be sometime soon!

Ocean looks beautiful, sunrise looks gorgeous, and marshmallows & sandwiches look super yummy! What else did you eat? Steaks?

Thank you for your comment. We had curry rice the night before and then somen and soba for lunch. No steaks this time. . .
