Da Best Shave Ice in Town ! !

Personally I like Waiola Shave Ice stand better than the other locations that are very popular.  It could also be the fact that this location is located in town and it is easier to access, especially this store in Kapahulu.  It used to have a bakery within the store but that section closed down.  It was unfortunate because they have some of the freshest baked goods!  

This is what the store looks like inside.  Not many people know this but there is an actual system when ordering at Waiola Shave Ice.  You need to order the size, small or large and if you want it in a cup or cone.  You also have to tell them if you want ice cream because they usually put that at the bottom of the cup or cone.  Once this is done, you need to tell them the flavors and topping you want.  They have condensed milk, azuki beans, mochi balls, and the largest selection of flavors for your shave ice. 

We ended up ordering a small cup with condensed milk and green tea flavor and a large cup with ice cream and sour apple and calpico flavor.  I like this shave ice the best because of the texture.  Although I have never seen snow, nor seen it fall, or even tried to taste it, my imagination tells me that the texture is exactly like this shave ice at Waiola.  Definitely much better than the Frappe/Kakigoori I had in Japan!  

The original store is located on Waiola Avenue, thus the name of the store.  Both are easily accessed from Waikiki.

Oishii Shave Ice wo try shite mite ne!
