Ice Skating in Hawaii!?!? Hontou?

Yes, one may not think that Hawaii is cold enough to have an ice skating rink but we do have one.  Actually, it is the only one in Hawaii.  It is called Ice Palace and it is located in the Stadium Mall Shopping area across from the Aloha Stadium.
Come to think of it, Ice Palace has been here for quite some time now.  I remember coming here during my high school days which is close to about 20 years ago.

As I recall, there were not many stores in this shopping area but now there is a Chinese Restaurant, a Pizza Hut, a plate lunch place, Jack in the Box, a convenience store, and a gasoline station.  It has become a much more convenient location that there is even a K-Mart located just diagonally across the street.

Here is a photo of my wife and our 4 year old niece trying to ice skate.  At first, they were both hesitant to go on the ice but after a while, they were having fun and thoroughly enjoyed ice skating.  So much that our niece did not want to get off the ice!

Due to the Fall Intersession, majority of the students were out of school.  It just so happened that about 150 students were on an excursion to Ice Palace!  I don't think it is usually this crowded here.

Hi! That's funny you guys went ice skating because our friend's daughters just went last week Monday. While we were having dinner at their home that evening, they were calling their grandmother to take them the next day again. I remember when we used to go back in the day! I can't believe Ice Palace has been around so long.

Ha ha ha, yeah it's been around a long time, huh?
Some parts hasn't changed but now they have some nice lighting set-up. The entrance is still the same with the store right in the back. The place to rent the skates also looks the same.
Maybe we can all go, it might be fun!
