It was only about a week ago that we said farewell to Don Ho.  I am back at the Hilton Hawaiian once again, but this time to say goodbye to a dear friend.I am wondering if it is a normal custom to spread ashes out to sea because this was the second time I witness this type of ceremony.As in this picture, it is nice to see Waikiki from the oceanside.  This must be what surfers see everytime they are... 詳細...

I had guests from Japan visiting the Islands and we took them out to dinner the other night.  We went to one of my favorite restaurants called Kai.  It is basically Japanese Teppanyaki Style cooking but the items on their menu is unique and delicious.Just a picture of the bento I had to buy for lunch today.Sorry, we were so hungry and we ate up the food so fast that none of us thought of taking pictures... 詳細...

It was Mother's Day on Sunday and a lot of restaurants were busy.  I happened to be in the Pearlridge Mall area and the Denny's had a line outside and it was only about 9am.We all went to Makino Chaya at the Aloha Tower Marketplace for dinner that night.  They really packed in that restaurant and there were lines to get the food.  There was Wagyuu Beef being cooked Teppanyaki style but it didn't taste... 詳細...

This family comes to Hawaii every year and they always stay at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel.  Isn't it amazing how fast kids grow up?  I knew the youngest son when he was about 6 years old.  I would always carry him on my back but now, I should ask him to carry me!  Actually, he is not that big yet but I am definitely bigger than him. ... 詳細...

Yes, the date is set for July 14, 2007.  It is only 2 months away but there is still a lot more planning that needs to be done. Wow!  I was just talking about how much I love honey and was sad that the honeybee population was in danger.  I just found out that there is a new flavor of ice cream from Haagen-Dazs, the Hawaiian Lehua Honey and Sweet Cream Ice Cream.  Can't wait to try it out, and when I do, I will definitely write about it here!There was a nice moon showing its face the other morning over the Waikiki Skyline. ... 詳細...

Last night, there was a major celebration of life for the late Don Ho.  He is best known for the song "Tiny Bubbles" and performing at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Dome.There was a beautiful display of flowers for Don Ho, fronting the Hilton Hawaiian Village property.In loving memory of Don Ho.There was also a ceremony at Waikiki Beach to spread his ashes out to sea.  It was a HUGE gathering.  So huge... 詳細...
